British IT tycoon Mike Lynch has made an appearance in US court to refute allegations that he used fraud to boost his company’s value prior to its 2011 sale to Hewlett-Packard.
He claimed to be “surreal” while he watched the proceedings and informed the jury that he was not involved in the transactions that had been detailed during the trial.
In 1996, Mr. Lynch co-founded the software company Autonomy, which went on to become one of the largest in the UK.
Once compared to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, the entrepreneur now faces up to 25 years in prison if found guilty.
