Surprisingly, a leaked phone conversation between militant Tariq Mahmood, also known as Abu Hisham, and a PTM (Pashtun Tahafuz Movement) member has exposed a risky partnership between the two groups.
The appeal reveals a plot by terrorist organizations with foreign support to sow ethnic tensions and bring Pashtun tribes together for an anti-state goal.
Amidst the conversation, Abu Hisham conveyed his wish to take part in a jirga, or tribal assembly, saying, “I wish I could attend and tell my Pashtun brothers to unite their weapons, politics, and protests.”
He also urged Pashtuns to drive out Punjabis and other ethnic groups from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and urged armed and non-armed forces to unite, including the Taliban.
