Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the ministries to meet the goals set forth by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), according to Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Sunday. He emphasized that the government has also established a system of self-accountability in this regard.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Tarar stated, “The prime minister has set out realistic target-oriented tasks for the ministries.”
His comments follow PM Shehbaz’s presentation of a five-year plan for economic recovery on Saturday, during which he presided over a federal cabinet meeting.
“I have shared broad parameters of a five-year plan with all the ministries, specifying their targets,” stated the prime leader.
In this context, he emphasized that the prime has sent a 70-page document to the ministries.
He emphasized that ministries have aims for the short, medium, and long term.
The information minister emphasized that authorities have been instructed to create a cutting-edge system for tracking the targets. Ministries, who have been informed in writing about their goals, will be held responsible for their performance and advancement in cabinet sessions.
Regarding the goals assigned to the Ministry of Finance, Tarar stated that the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) must be digitalized, loans must be restructured, and inflation must be controlled.
The minister reports that the Ministry of Commerce has been tasked with lowering the trade imbalance, eliminating the menace of smuggling, and ensuring the approval of a national industrial policy
