In consecutive proceedings on Tuesday at a federal court in Jackson, Mississippi, Hunter Elward, 31, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, while Jeffrey Middleton, 46, was given a 17-and-a-half-year sentence, according to the US Justice Department.
Two of the six officers who broke into a home in Braxton, Mississippi, without a search warrant used stun guns, a sex toy, and other items to attack Eddie Terrell Parker and Michael Corey Jenkins.
It happened after a white neighbor complained to the sheriff’s office about seeing “suspicious behavior” and learning that two black men were staying at the residence with a white woman.
After a two-hour experience in which the victims were chained and held captive, Mr. Jenkins was shot in the mouth. He sustained a cracked jaw and lacerations on his tongue.
