Kyiv is referring to today as “historic” since it has stopped the flow of money to finance the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by refusing to prolong a transit arrangement with Russia’s Gazprom.
But the action could lead to a conflict in neighboring Moldova.
Transnistrian heat off
Only hospitals and vital infrastructure, not homes, were heated at the start of the year in Transnistria, a Moscow-aligned separatist territory in eastern Moldova.
