Mothers of fallen soldiers in Pakistan gave their reflections on their sons’ sacrifices for the country on September 6, which is recognized as Defence Day. On this day in Pakistan’s history, the armed forces and citizens came together to repel an enemy attack, which is noteworthy.
A number of mothers showed a mixture of pride and anguish. “While I deeply mourn my son’s martyrdom, I’m also very proud that he sacrificed his life for the country,” said Captain Kashaan Shaheed’s mother.
“I’m very proud of my son’s martyrdom,” said the mother of Captain Sughair Abbas Shaheed. “If I had ten sons, I would sacrifice them all for this nation.”
The mother of Major Ali Salman Nasir Shaheed remembered, “It felt like my world had ended when I received news of my son’s martyrdom.”
