America is providing aid to Africa, which is suffering from mpox!
According to a senior administration official, President Joe Biden will make a major announcement later on Tuesday, September 24, about providing one million doses of the mpox vaccine and at least $500 million in funding to the African nations in order to help them contain the deadly outbreak.
The announcement will be made by the President in New York, where Biden is expected to attend the UN General Assembly, according to sources cited by Reuters.
In an effort to supply vaccines to the countries affected by mpox, the World Health Organization (WHO), Africa CDC, Gavi, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) released an emergency tender earlier in September.
