Mykhailo Mudryk, a winger for Chelsea, says he is in “complete shock” following a positive test for a prohibited substance.
The team acknowledged on Tuesday that the Football Association (FA) had gotten in touch with them due to an “adverse finding in a routine urine test” that the Ukraine international had submitted.
Following the positive test, the FA temporarily suspended the attacker, who denies intentionally employing a prohibited substance.
Chelsea promises to investigate the reason behind the test failure.
“This has come as a complete shock, as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened,” Mudryk posted to Instagram.
“I am aware that I have done nothing improper.”
