Concerns have been raised by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah about a judge’s comments about police behavior in the well-known Mustafa Amir murder case.
After a protracted absence and investigations, Mustafa, a BBA student who vanished on January 6, was discovered dead in a burned-out automobile close to the Hub checkpoint on Friday night.
The Sindh chief minister questioned the judiciary’s handling of the issue during his remarks at the opening of the recently renovated Model Police Station on Sharea Faisal.
The court’s decision to refuse police custody of the accused for physical remand was criticized by the chief minister. He asked why the judge had spoken things about the police that he thought were improper.
“I was shocked to learn that the suspect was placed under judicial custody right away.”
