At the Kashmir Institute of Management in Muzaffarabad, a National Security Workshop got underway, attracting participants from a range of fields, including civil bureaucracy, students, representatives of civil society, and thought leaders from diverse philosophical traditions.
Examining Kashmir’s shifting dynamics in light of global changes was the main goal of the workshop’s first sessions. The speakers covered a range of topics related to South Asian diplomatic ties and regional security.
Masood Khan, the former president of Azad Kashmir, spoke at the event and emphasized Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic backing for Kashmir at international fora. He highlighted Pakistan’s longtime support for the right to self-determination and pointed out that India’s stance is a major barrier to Kashmir’s ambitions for independence.
Both men and women from a wide range of backgrounds and professions have participated in significant numbers in the training.
