Small white and grey balls of trash washed up on Sydney’s beaches during the height of the summer holiday season, forcing the closure of nine beaches, including the popular Manly beach, on Tuesday.
According to Northern Beaches Council, efforts are underway to securely resolve the issue. According to a statement, the majority of the marble-sized samples of the ball-shaped debris were smaller than marbles.
Travelers from all over the world go to Sydney’s coastal beaches, which are renowned for their golden sand and pure water.
While the cleanup and investigations proceeded, beachgoers were warned to stay away from the debris and to avoid Manly, Dee Why, Long Reef, Queenscliff, Freshwater, North and South Curl Curl, North Steyne, and North Narrabeen beaches until further notice.
