Following the single-vehicle crash, 32-year-old Rebecca Hill and her daughter Arianna Aliu were named as the victims by Police Scotland.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency personnel were notified of an incident on the A76 close to its intersection with the B713, which runs between Catrine and Auchinleck.
At the scene, Arianna was pronounced deceased.
After being brought to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, Ms. Hill, the driver of the white Volkswagen Passat, passed away shortly after.
“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident at this extremely difficult time,” stated Inspector Kenny Malaney. Rebecca and Arianna’s family is receiving assistance from specialist cops.
We would want to express our gratitude to the bystanders who came to our aid and called the emergency services.
We are requesting that anyone who saw the crash or may have been around at the time get in touch with us, as we are doing extensive inquiries to determine what happened.
Additionally, I would be interested in speaking with anyone who has dashcam film of the Passat before the collision.
