NASA has announced that the astronauts stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) may have to wait “even longer” to return to Earth, which is another setback for Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams’ return.
According to the BBC, the two astronauts were scheduled to stay in space for eight days after blasting into orbit in June, but due to technical difficulties with their Boeing-built spaceship, Starliner, their stay was prolonged to February of the following year.
Because of a delay in the launch of a new capsule to the ISS, Wilmore and Williams won’t return until late March or possibly April.
NASA claims that the next flight has been delayed by more than a month and that a new crew must launch before the pair returns.
