Beginning in November, Australia will play five home Test matches against India, in which the 36-year-old is expected to play.
Lyon, who has claimed 530 wickets in Test matches, will now be available for seven of the Championship’s opening nine rounds.
According to the county, they are “assessing options” for an additional foreign player, specifically for the white-ball matches.
According to Mark Chilton, Lancashire’s director of cricket performance, talks are “taking place” with prospective recruits, and the county is “excited” to have Lyon for a portion of the season.

The revelation comes after Derbyshire accepted spinner Jack Morley earlier this month, but England’s Tom Hartley is also a member of the team from the Red Rose county.
