KARACHI: The last round of renovations at Karachi’s National Stadium has begun as the city gets ready for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set for February.
The stadium’s two enclosures will be renamed in honor of Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan, two local cricket legends, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also said Thursday.
A new far-end building is being constructed as part of the update; the players’ area is finished, and the top levels are currently undergoing final touches like cleaning and partitioning.
On Thursday, the PCB organized a media visit to the stadium to observe the development.
Two VIP enclosures, totaling 1,050 seats, are being prepared, according to National Stadium Karachi General Manager Arshad Khan.
