Davis recently shared his expectations for his time in jail as well as his goals for himself while he’s behind bars.
“I think I’ll spend some quality time in there,” the former forward for the Boston Celtics said to Sports over the weekend. Learn new things and make new friends. Everything will work out OK.”
He joked about working on his body and said he wasn’t anxious about going to prison.
He said, “Shout out to the ladies out there.” “Write to me. I’ll be in there, relaxing to the fullest. Once I’m out, call me “Big.”
Prosecutors claim that Davis participated in an insurance scam that deceived an NBA player’s and their family’s insurance plan of up to $5 million. In this instance, almost twenty persons were persuaded, many of them were players who had falsely claimed medical and dental benefits from the NBA Players’ Health and Benefit Welfare Plan.
Among the others found guilty in the scam were former guard Will Bynum of the Detroit Pistons and former player Terrence Williams of the New Jersey Nets.
Davis earned a conference title with LSU in 2006 and was a member of the Celtics’ 2008 NBA championship team.
