PARACHINAR: According to a health department official cited by The News on Tuesday, a significant lack of medications combined with extended road closures has resulted in the deaths of at least 29 youngsters in the Kurram area.
District Headquarters Hospital Parachinar’s medical superintendent, Dr. Syed Mir Hassan Jan, revealed that the facility has been unable to provide patients with appropriate care since October 1 because of a shortage of basic medical supplies and necessary medications.
He noted that the lack of surgical services has resulted in the deaths of numerous more patients in addition to the 29 children.
Dr. Jan gave a sobering warning about the impending healthcare crisis unless medical supplies and services are restored right away.
