The exam paper for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), which is set for May 5, 2024, was purportedly sold for several lakh rupees a day prior to the test. According to Indian media sources, police operations in Patna, Godhra, and Rajasthan seized amounts ranging from 3 to 5 million rupees related to the paper leak.
Rahul Gandhi, the head of the opposition, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, charging them with backing those who violate the rights of common students by tampering with the exam system.
In light of this tragedy, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan admitted numerous shortcomings in the educational system. Gandhi, however, went on to attack the minister, saying that although Pradhan enumerated the flaws in the system, he neglected to take responsibility for his own actions.
Allegations have been made that the upper classes in India are not treated equally by the law as a result of the BJP’s silence on the subject. The episode has sparked concerns about the legitimacy of the educational system and how the government handles these kinds of scams.
