ISLAMABAD The News said on Thursday that K-Electric’s (KE) Rs392.49 billion grid upgrade investment plan has been authorized by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
The investment funds, which were authorized following careful examination and assessment, will be used throughout the course of the following seven years, from the fiscal years 2023–2024 to 2029–2030.
The approval follows Nepra’s January renewal of KE’s power distribution and supply licenses, which were set to expire in July 2023, for a further 20 years.
After KE, which had originally requested Rs484 billion, submitted its investment plan and a loss assessment to the regulatory body on January 30, 2023, in compliance with the regulatory body’s norms and the NEPRA Act of 1997, Nepra approved the investment funds.
