ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi have petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to overturn the special judge’s decision to deny their requests for acquittal in the recent Toshakhana case.
The imprisoned former prime minister and his spouse contested the Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand’s decision in the high court on Monday.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the state parties, and the special judge were all parties to the plea entered by the couple.
In the petition, it was claimed that the trial court’s November 14, 2024, ruling was illegal. In the well-known case, the couple also requested that the IHC acquit them.
The issue concerns the purportedly unlawful selling of a jewelry set that Bushra received as a gift.
