Following a string of intertwining scandals, New York Governor Kathy Hochul convened a crisis meeting on Tuesday to consider the possibility of dismissing Mayor Eric Adams.
The mayor of New York City allegedly requested the Trump administration to drop a corruption case against him in exchange for his cooperation on immigration enforcement, according to a top Manhattan prosecutor last week.
The Justice Department submitted a move to dismiss the criminal case against Adams on Monday, prompting the resignation of four of his senior deputies, including the first deputy mayor.
Hochul stated in a statement that the “alleged conduct at City Hall that has been reported over the past two weeks is troubling and cannot be ignored.”
