As the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) withdrew funds meant for sheltering migrants in New York City, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is set to meet with the border czar.
This happens as he gets ready to meet with Border Czar Tom Homan on Thursday to talk about the expulsion of migrants from New York City.
The Trump administration “unlawfully cancelled” $80 million in FEMA payments from the city’s accounts, according to New York City Comptroller Brad Lander’s statement on Wednesday.
FEMA’s Shelter and Services Program, which Congress authorized in 2023, sent the city a check last week.
However, according to Lander, his staff discovered that the money had disappeared.
