HAMILTON: Tim Southee declared he will never forget his “incredible journey” as the legendary New Zealand player announced on Tuesday that he had completely withdrawn from international cricket.
After collecting two wickets in his 107th and final Test match, a 423-run thumping of England in Hamilton, Southee declared he would “fade out” a happy man.
After a record-breaking 17 years in all three forms, the 36-year-old swing bowler then declared he will no longer play limited-overs cricket for his nation.
“It’s time for these young guys,” Southee declared.
“Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of them emerge, and I can’t wait to watch them carry this team forward.
