DUBAI: After defeating the Proteas in a tri-series played at the same location last month, New Zealand enters their Champions Trophy semi-final matchup with South Africa in Lahore on Wednesday with confidence.
Tom Latham stated that the Black Caps’ defeat to India in their last Group A game on Sunday in Dubai would not affect their chances of making it to the final.
More importantly, New Zealand defeated hosts Pakistan in the tri-series and chased down 305 against South Africa in Lahore after Kane Williamson hit 133.
Latham, the wicketkeeper, stated, “We’re lucky that we had a tri-series in Pakistan and against South Africa.”
