A newborn baby girl was found wrapped in a towel inside a shopping bag in a heartbreaking occurrence that happened in the busy streets of east London, BBC reported. This discovery sparked a desperate hunt for the baby’s mother.
The terrifying find happened in Newham, when a watchful bystander discovered the small baby and quickly took action to keep her warm until emergency personnel could arrive.
The infant is now securely recovering in the hospital after being miraculously unhurt, according to the Metropolitan Police, who responded to the disturbing call at 21:15 GMT on Thursday.
Simon Crick, Chief Superintendent, praised the good Samaritan’s deed, saying, “The walker’s action in keeping the little girl warm contributed to saving the baby’s life.”
While everyone is relieved that the baby is alive, the mother is being urged to come forward by the authorities immediately. “Please know that your daughter is well, no matter what your circumstances are, please do seek help by dialing 999,” the police pleaded directly, sending a strong message.
It is urgent to worry about the mother’s health because it is thought that she experienced a terrible birthing experience.
Specialized cops and trained medics are prepared to provide her with urgent support; she is encouraged to contact them by phone or by going to the closest hospital or police station.
The scope of the inquiry has been expanded, and the police are requesting that anyone who knows the mother’s identify come forward.
