The 46-year-old celebrity, who has been a regular DJ on news channels for many years and hosts Desert Island Discs on Radio 4, thanked her family and physicians in an Instagram post detailing what had happened.
She posted, “I recently had a cancer diagnosis,” while she was in the hospital to share the news. Thank God, it was discovered unexpectedly and early during a screening test, and I should fully recover.
“As I’m currently in the hospital, I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the medical staff for their amazing competence and kindness in getting me this far.
I am so extremely grateful and I love you so much to my family and friends who have been truly amazing at every turn.”
“For their support and for giving me the time off that I need to get better,” she also expressed gratitude to her coworkers.
“It’s usually my job to bring the good vibes on air but any you have to spare are very much welcome here,” the broadcaster concluded her message. I’m sending tons of love to everybody who has made it back to shore or is in a similar boat.”
She did not specify the kind of cancer for which she is receiving treatment.
