WASHINGTON: According to a top border officer in Donald Trump’s incoming administration, U.S. immigration officials will make major arrests of unauthorized immigrants nationwide on Tuesday.
Republican Trump, who will return to the White House on Monday, would be making one of his first moves to fulfill a campaign promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the United States.
In response to reports in the Wall Street Journal and other US outlets that Trump’s new administration intended to launch a “immigration raid” in Chicago starting on Tuesday, the second day of the president’s term, Trump’s new “border czar” Tom Homan made the comments to News on Friday.
