The head of Reform UK waved a piece of a newspaper front page from 2016 that said, “Boris blames EU for war in Ukraine” and called Mr. Johnson a “hypocrite.”
Speaking from atop a campaign van in Maidstone, Kent, Mr. Farage drew attention to the fact that the former mayor of London had previously attributed the 2014 Russian invasion of Crimea to decisions made in Brussels.
Speaking following a severe criticism to remarks he made last week suggesting that the West and NATO “provoked” the almost two-year-old conflict in Ukraine, the Reform leader was speaking.
Speaking to the news, Mr. Farage stated that he had been predicting a war in Ukraine since the fall of the Berlin Wall because of the “ever-eastward expansion of NATO and the European Union.”.
He claimed that Vladimir Putin had a justification to declare war and warn the Russian people that “they’re coming for us again” as a result of such activities.
During the interview, Mr. Farage was questioned over his prior remarks regarding the Russian president, whom he claimed to “love” for his political acumen, even though he said that Mr. Putin was “of course” to blame for the war.
