Nine people’s remains were transported to various hospitals in Hyderabad on Monday amidst the intense heat.
The Edhi Center’s in-charge stated that the majority of the dead appeared to be drug addicts and that the bodies were discovered laying abandoned in various locations of the city.
Referring to the recent deaths, psychologist Dr. Qazi Humayun Rasheed stated that drug users could not withstand harsh weather conditions due to their drastically compromised immune systems.
In a same vein, 20 people died in Karachi on Thursday due to the extreme heat.
The number of bodies has now reached 20, according to rescue workers, who also reported that they received eight more that day from various parts of the city.They added that the remains had been moved to the Civil Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and that they appeared to be drug addicts.
According to reports, one body each was retrieved from Chundrigar Road, Clifton, Malir, Quaidabad, and Super Highway, and three dead were discovered in the Lyari neighborhood of Jehanabad.
