Downing Street has warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might be arrested if he visits the UK because an international arrest warrant has been issued for him.
A spokesperson for No. 10 stated that the government will fulfill its “legal obligations” but declined to comment on the particular issue.
In connection with alleged war crimes in Gaza, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest order for Netanyahu and Israel’s former defense minister Yoav Gallant on Thursday.
The UK is one of the member nations of the court that have ratified a treaty requiring them to comply with arrest warrants.
