KARACHI: Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated on Saturday that there is no likelihood of rain in Karachi, although there is a potential of drizzle in some locations today.
For the past few days, the port city has been experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures climbing beyond 40°C and feeling like they are about to surpass 50°C.
Long-term load shedding is also making life difficult for the majority of people.
According to Sarfaraz, low air pressure in the Arabian Sea will prevent the city’s calming sea breeze from flowing, and the weather is predicted to stay partly cloudy today.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) advisory states that the city’s weather will likely stay hot and muggy for the next 24 hours.
According to the PMD, the minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 30.5°C, and the maximum temperature is expected to range between 36 and 38°C.
According to the Met Office, there is 70% humidity in the atmosphere.
Residents of Karachi were able to escape the oppressive heat on Thursday thanks to some much-needed rain that fell in some areas of the city.
