Engine issues compelled Gian Perroni and Angela Harsanyi to remain in Northern Ireland during their three-and-a-half-year voyage on the Odyssey, which was scheduled to begin on May 30.
However, they began dating while still residing in the city and discovered they “completely meshed”. They’ve been dating for four months and are engaged.
“We discovered that we were so much alike and enjoyed each other’s company that we really couldn’t imagine a life without each other,” Ms. Harsanyi said in an interview with Sarah-Jane Mee on The UK Tonight.
Canuck Mr. Perroni told news that although the ship “ended up having a lot of issues that had to be addressed—many of them were surprises as we came along the way” when they arrived in Belfast in May.
As the cruise line, he claimed, “been looking after us, taking care of us, covering our expenses” attempted to resolve the problem, the two “became friends” while working together to resolve the matter.
Then, he said, we found ourselves traveling back to the ship every day, back to our hotels in Belfast’s downtown, about six weeks ago.
