Kennedy Stith, 27, was taken into custody by Pleasanton police on September 12 as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of her boyfriend, Edevion White, 32, who was discovered dead on May 1, 2023, in the 5700 block of Owens Drive.
Authorities said in a statement that the 27-year-old first spoke lies when she claimed that two guys wearing ski masks were to blame for her boyfriend’s death. According to the news, she said that the two killed him by breaking into their flat.
But Pleasanton detectives found this assertion to be false after a year-long investigation, they stated.
She was then charged with murder on Friday by the office of the district attorney for Alameda County.
According to the story, authorities claim that inside their residence on Owens and Rosewood Drive, Stith fatally stabbed White in the chest.
Pleasanton police alleged that Stith made up the account of the house invasion and arrested her on suspicion of murder on Friday.
KTVU said that Stith was “manipulative, abusive, and controlling,” citing the Pleasanton police. According to the story, Stith allegedly made her partner sell narcotics in order to pay her debts.
