According to a new policy, the Ministry of Religious Affairs will start taking applications for the government’s Hajj program in the middle of November.
89,605 pilgrims will be permitted to perform the Hajj; 5,000 of these will take advantage of a sponsorship program, with the rest pilgrims falling under the standard program.
Next week, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the Minister of Religious Affairs, is anticipated to formally unveil the Hajj policy’s specifics.
The new policy would allow the Hajj package expenses to be paid in installments, which is a big step forward for potential pilgrims.
According to Ministry sources, the costs would be paid in three payments rather than all at once. The Hajj application will require a 200,000 rupee upfront deposit.
