LAHORE: After surviving an alleged suicide attempt, a first-year nursing student at Fatima Jinnah Medical University has urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to step in regarding allegations of harassment and character assassination by the school’s female principal.
Iman Fatima, a first-year student at the university’s College of Nursing and Midwifery, was allegedly trying to sever her jugular vein on Sunday when she was rescued by other nurses.
The head of the school allegedly used derogatory language, harassed the students, and attacked their reputation, which is why Director General Nursing Punjab, Tahira Sagheer, claims that the student attempted suicide.
The girl, who is from Gujranwala and was studying nursing at the Lahore institution, had requested leaves from the principal, Sagheer continued.
