Peshawar residents are divided over a reported attempt on the life of a local contractor by a suspected Punjabi Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official.
The CTD representative allegedly tried to pick up the contractor without alerting the local police, and the incident happened near the Town police station.
The CTD official reportedly approached the contractor and attempted to remove him by force. When the official’s colleagues intervened, apprehending him and then turning him over to the local police, the situation became more heated.
The arrested official had a number of identity cards from various organizations that were found during the incident.
A case has been filed by the police against the purported CTD Punjab official, and an inquiry is presently being conducted to ascertain the reason for the kidnapping.
