The largest exploration and production (E&P) company in Pakistan, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), has reported the finding of natural gas reserves at the Shahu-1 well in the Sindh district of Khairpur.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) was notified of this occurrence on Wednesday.
OGDCL said it was pleased with the gas discovery from the lower Goru B Reservoir Sand of the Sawan South Block at the Shahu-1 well.
OGDCL (20% working interest), the operator, United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEPL), Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL) (2.5%), and Sindh Energy Holding Limited (SEHL) (2.5%), make up the joint venture for this project.
On August 18, 2024, the well was spudded down to a depth of 12,675 feet. According to OGDCL, the well might yield about 10 million.
