Filmmaker Oliver Stone claims that “lawfare” is being utilized against former President Trump in the many judicial procedures he faces in 2024.
Stone mentioned Trump in the context of his new documentary, “Lula,” about Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was imprisoned in 2018–2019 following a corruption probe. He sees parallels as the likely Republican presidential nominee faces 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York, all related to a hush money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels.
“The charges on both sides of the Trump-Biden election are pretty wild — that [President] Biden is corrupt and Trump is corrupt,” Stone stated to Variety.
“It’s a new type of warfare. “It’s called lawfare,” he added. “And that’s what they’re using against Trump.”
