Olly Alexander recently talked candidly about Polari, his new album.
Olly acknowledged in a recent interview with Attitude that getting back together with his ex-partner gave him “a different perspective to write from,” which in turn inspired the creation of his new piece.
He started by saying, “The reason for that is very simple.”
“It’s because I got back together with my partner,” he added, dedicating his work to his spouse. We dated for a year before splitting up, so we were together about ten years ago.
He clarified that “this idea of returning to love was really on” his “mind” and that “we ended up coming back together after not speaking for a few years.”
“I had all these different relationship points.”
