British Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies and collegiate athlete Chelsea Mitchell joined UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem at the UN on a panel co-hosted by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) International and the Permanent Mission of the Gambia, urging nations to take action and safeguard women’s sports.
Mitchell claimed to be the state’s fastest runner prior to Connecticut permitting transgender women to participate in her league, however she has since lost out on it.
“It tells me that I’m not good enough, that my body isn’t good enough, and that no matter how hard I work, I am unlikely to succeed, because I’m a woman,” she stated. “I came to the UN to defend the human rights of women and girls in sports worldwide because I believe that girls everywhere need to recognize their worth.
With the assistance of ADF, Mitchell is suing the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference for enabling transgender girls to participate in and be successful in female sports. Mitchell claimed to the News that transgender female athletes have stolen her four women’s state championship championships, two all-New England honors, and countless additional podium spots.
