Omar Ayub Khan and other prominent PTI leaders were arrested by Rawalpindi police on Thursday.
Ayub is joined by Raja Basharat, Ahmed Chattha, and Azim-ud-Din as PTI leaders.
Police officers detained Ayub and Basharat at the checkpoint of Adiala Jail, PTI attorney Rana Mudassar informed reporters. He went on to say that it was unclear whose charges resulted in the PTI officials’ arrests.
The party’s legal team contested the arrested leaders’ custody, and they are scheduled to appear before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) today.
The concerned authorities were instructed by the ATC to produce the PTI leaders by 7:30 p.m. today.
The development followed the indictment of 99 other suspects in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack, including PTI founder Imran Khan.
