According to the police, they looked to have been attacked while dozing off in their seats as the train was traveling. They were sat apart in two compartments.
Before 5.30 am local time, the incident occurred, and it was called a “execution-style” slaying.
When police arrived at the scene on Monday, they declared three of the victims dead at the Forest Park station, while a fourth person passed away in the hospital.
The medical examiner’s office for Cook County reports that three men and one women were among the victims.
The guy got away, but Forest Park Police reported that he was eventually apprehended with a pistol on a different train.
