Police in Uttar Pradesh, India, were caught off guard by an odd emergency call they received on the eve of Diwali. Officers discovered local resident Vijay Verma in a distressed situation when they arrived on the scene.
It was revealed during interrogation that Vijay had reported the theft of about 250 grams of peeled potatoes from his house while intoxicated.
He claimed that the missing potatoes deserved a police inquiry, stating that he had been going to cook them after drinking, but when he got home, he found they were gone.
During his interview with police, Verma, the guy who reported missing potatoes to the Hardoi district, further justified his drinking habits.
