ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued orders to create a larger bench and combine many complaints related to the rights of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is currently detained in Adiala jail.
The development occurred after Adiala jail superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum filed a petition with IHC’s Acting Chief Justice Justice Sarfraz Dogar, complaining of numerous pending petitions pertaining to Khan’s visitation privileges and contradictory court rulings on the matter.
In the petition, the jail official mentioned operational challenges and uncertainty faced by prison administration. “In the interest of judicial consistency, it is imperative that all related cases listed… be consolidated before a single or larger bench to ensure uniform adjudication and effective enforcement of judicial directives,” the official stated.
