Shahad Hussain, a 23-year-old Pakistani man from Chitral, married Flores Sarah, an 18-year-old American, in a contemporary take on a traditional love tale. Through the well-known online game PUBG, the couple met and grew closer.
Following three years of internet courting, they were married in a traditional ceremony at a private hotel in Chitral. Maulana Khaliq-uz-Zaman, the khatib of the Shah Mosque in Chitral, performed the Nikah.
Sarah gave her complete agreement for the marriage to go place, and her mother was present at the ceremony. Since Sarah’s name is already Islamic, there was no need to modify it.
According to Raisuddin, who lives in Chitral’s Marooi neighborhood, the pair has been together for three years. Sarah got her mother’s approval before being married to Shahad.
