The anniversary of the 1965 war, in which India ambushed Pakistan without warning, is observed on this day: 59th Defence and Martyrs Day. Pakistan repulsed the Indian soldiers and prevented their invasion of the country, even in the face of insurmountable odds.
A day of remembering is being observed across the country to honor this momentous occasion. throughout the early hours of the day, 21-gun salutes were fired throughout the provincial capitals of Pakistan and Islamabad. Following the Fajr prayers, special prayers were said in mosques for Pakistan’s advancement and prosperity as well as the liberation of India-occupied Kashmir.
Honors were also given to the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the country. The country remembers the great war that Pakistan’s military fought against India in 1965.
