Millions of dollars’ worth of merchandise were destroyed when a fire broke out in a coach of the Tezgam Express on its way from Lahore to Karachi.
The event happened close to Raiwind when the train arrived and the brake coach connected to the engine suddenly caught fire.
When they saw the smoke, passengers sounded alarms, and the train was stopped. In order to separate the damaged coach from the engine and put out the fire, passengers, railroad officials, and emergency crews collaborated.
Meanwhile, traffic on the entire downtrack was suspended, and all trains heading from Lahore to Karachi were halted at Lahore Railway Station.
