ISLAMABAD: A group of five judges from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) have officially complained to the chief justice of the IHC about the updated seniority list that was released after three justices were transferred, raising worries about judicial seniority once more.
They have also sent a copy of their concerns to Yahya Afridi, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). The justices have asked the CJP to delay the judicial commission’s meeting for the Supreme Court’s judge nomination until the seniority dispute is settled.
With the consent of IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, a new seniority list of judges was released following the transfer of judges from three provincial high courts to the IHC.
