Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), pleaded with the opposition on Friday not to hold demonstrations during the crucial Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Pakistan.
“With the repeal of the 19th Amendment, the parliament’s role in appointing judges will be increased,” Rehman stated at a press conference in Islamabad.
“The government ought to be aware that our story is gaining traction with the general public,” he declared.
“The judicial reforms in the 19th Amendment had finished the role of the parliament,” he declared.
Rehman said, “There is a condition of accepting our draft in order for a consensus to be reached on the appropriate draft.”
