In response to Keira Knightley’s recent comments on how the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise influenced and complicated her career, Orlando Bloom addressed the former co-star.
Knightley told The Times that although the popular series helped establish her career, it also exposed her to severe public scrutiny. Knightley was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for Black Doves.
Regarding this, she said, “I was seen as s** because of them,” adding that the movies also provided opportunities for her Oscar-nominated parts in spite of the criticism.
“I definitely understand where Keira was coming from, and she does wonderful things,” Bloom said in response in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. I’ve learned a lot of good lessons.
